Yes, you’ve guessed it- it’s the Khalistanis, who until June 6 were celebrating that PM Narendra Modi had not been invited to the G7 Summit and were lauding the Carney government for it.
There was fierce competition among Khalistani leaders to take credit for supposedly blocking Modi’s participation. But on June 6, like a harsh reality check, PM Modi reemerged in their midst. When the news broke that PM Carney had invited PM Modi to attend the G7 Summit in Canada in the nation’s best interests, the Khalistanis were boasting on the radio just the day before-suddenly lost ground under their feet.
These Khalistanis, who call themselves patriots in Canada and wrap themselves in the Canadian flag while labelling those who support strong India-Canada relations as traitors, quickly turned on the Canadian government and Prime Minister Carney. They began aggressive campaigns to oppose Modi’s visit.
Are these Khalistani leaders unaware that PM Modi has been attending G7 meetings since 2019? Is Canada’s G7 agenda even implementable without India’s participation? PM Mark Carney himself has said that without India’s inclusion, the G7 agenda is a “non-starter.” Don’t the Khalistanis realize that to revive Canada’s economy, PM Carney must strengthen relationships with major global economies?This makes it evident that safeguarding Canada’s interests cannot rely on guarding the Khalistani agenda.
These individuals merely want to use the Canadian government and institutions to further their hateful propaganda against India. But they’ve forgotten that today’s Canadian Prime Minister isn’t drama teacher Justin Trudeau, who could be easily swayed. Today, Canada is led by the intelligent and capable Mark Carney, who prioritizes the interests of Canada and Canadians.In this situation, the Khalistani elements have ended up like the proverbial dog belonging neither to home nor the street.
Despite all efforts by the Indian removal from blacklists – these Khalistani elements continue to spew venom against India at the behest of foreign powers. They believed that Western countries would support their hateful agenda. But as political tides shift, so do allegiances. Now even the Canadian government has distanced itself from Khalistani institutions, sending a clear message to the world that there is no place for hate and violence in any civilized society.
Instead, these Khalistani groups are now organizing protest marches and demonstrations, damaging Canada’s image globally. They are also trying to pressure elected Members of Parliament to take actions that may harm Canada’s national interests.
Wisdom lies in Khalistani organizations changing their approach and halting their opposition to Modi’s visit. Such actions are only tarnishing the image of the Sikh community in Canada. If these groups have any demands or questions, they should engage in diplomatic dialogue with the Indian government not disrupt society with chaos and hatred, thereby damaging the reputation of an entire community
