Jakhar’s attack: AAP accused of intimidating MLA, demand for CM’s replacement

A Punjab BJP delegation met with Gulab Chand Kataria on Saturday and submitted a memorandum regarding the state’s political situation, security arrangements, and administrative functioning. During the meeting, State President Sunil Jakhar raised several serious issues.

Accusation of AAP of intimidating MLAs
Regarding the cases filed against Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, Sunil Jakhar said that this step was taken to intimidate his own MLAs. He said that if someone changes parties, pressure is being exerted by filing cases against them.

Demand for CM Bhagwant Mann’s removal
Jakhar also demanded the removal of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann from his post. He said that despite the majority, the current situation should be reconsidered and the Chief Minister could be replaced if necessary. He also said that this issue will be resolved at the political level, not on the streets.

Questions raised about the treatment of officers and security
Jakhar alleged that senior officers were treated poorly during a meeting. He demanded that the Governor summon the Chief Secretary to investigate the matter and provide security to the officers.

Issues raised about security and drug census
The BJP also raised questions about the security arrangements in the state, alleging that security was withdrawn for MPs who joined the party, while other cases were relaxed. Jakhar also questioned the drug census, saying the government should include all forms of intoxicants, including alcohol.
