Another attempt at cross-border infiltration has been made in the Jyodiyan area along the Line of Control (LoC). On February 19th, an infiltration attempt was made by Pakistani infiltrators in the Nathutibba area of the Palanwala sector, which was foiled by the Indian Army’s vigilance.
According to sources, after observing suspicious activity, Indian troops retaliated with small arms fire. One intruder was killed during the encounter. An Indian Army soldier was also injured in the operation and was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, vigilance has been increased in the area, and a search operation is underway in the entire area. The Army is continuously monitoring the situation.
In a separate incident, security forces arrested a man in a major operation in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri last night. During the search operation, two foreign-made pistols (Turkish/Chinese made), four magazines, and 15 live cartridges were recovered from the accused. According to sources, security agencies received information about suspicious activities, following which a special search operation was launched in the area. During the search, the suspect was surrounded and apprehended. A large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from him.
