Jansadharan Express derails near Kanpur, No casualties reported

Indore, Aug 1: A train accident occurred in Kanpur. A bogie of the Jansadharan Express got derailed in Bhaupur (Panki). Train number 15269 was going from Muzaffarpur to Ahmedabad.

The bogie that has derailed is said to be of the general category. There have been no casualties in the accident, and top railway officials, including DRM have reached the spot.

According to railway sources, Sabarmati Jansadharan Express reached Kanpur Central late on Friday. The train was supposed to arrive at 12:50, but it reached Central Station at 3:07. It left after a halt of 10 minutes.

While proceeding from Panki Dham railway station on Delhi-Howrah railway track, the sixth and seventh coaches got derailed from the engine of the train near the outer of Bhaupur station at 4:12. A major accident was averted due to the slow speed of the train at that time. Accident relief train is being sent to the spot.
