Jalandhar Double Murder: Gangster Joga takes responsibility

Gangster Joga Pholriwal has claimed responsibility for the double murder that took place in New Dashmesh Nagar, Jalandhar. In a social media post, he claimed that he and his gang were responsible for the killings of Saurabh and Simranjit (alias Pappu).

The post stated that the two victims had harmed his associate, Sukhman Brar, while in jail, and this incident was the consequence of that action. It also mentioned that Pappu had previously been an associate of theirs. Threatening Saurabh’s associates, the gangster wrote that it was now the turn of those who were with him—whether in jail or outside. The post concluded with the names “Joga Pholriwal” and “Khatri Group Nawanshahr.”

The case has now taken a new turn. Gangster Joga Pholriwal, currently abroad, claimed via an Instagram story that Saurabh was murdered at his behest. A contract killer had been provided with a pistol and ammunition (15 rounds) for the task. While there is talk of two youths being arrested and weapons being recovered in connection with the case, the police have not officially confirmed this.

It is worth noting that Simranjit Singh and Saurabh were critically injured in a shooting incident in New Dashmesh Nagar (Basti area, Jalandhar) last Friday. Simranjit died before reaching the hospital, while Saurabh succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Consequently, the case was registered as a double murder.

    Premeditated Attack

The police believe the shooting was the result of an old rivalry. Contract killers had been conducting reconnaissance on Simranjit; he was fired upon while on his way to the hospital. Saurabh was also hit by a bullet during the incident. Seven individuals have been identified by name, while two others remain unidentified.

Raids are being conducted in Jalandhar and neighboring districts to apprehend all the suspects. Meanwhile, the families of the deceased are angry with the police following the deaths. They allege that a complaint regarding a quarrel that took place the day before the incident was submitted to ASI Rakesh at the Bhargav Camp police station, but no immediate action was taken.
