Kamal Kaur Case: Accused to Be Brought to Ludhiana

Ludhiana resident social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, is reportedly the main accused in the murder case, and Ludhiana police are preparing to bring extremist leader Amritpal Singh Mehro on a production warrant.

This step is being taken in the case in which Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring was allegedly threatened and accused of displaying weapons on social media. In this case, the court has already issued an arrest warrant against Mehro.

The case was filed in 2022
An FIR was registered against Mehro on November 23, 2022, under Sections 188 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act. This action was taken after an interview aired on a web channel, in which Mehro allegedly displayed weapons and made controversial statements.

King Wading was threatened
In fact, Amarinder Singh Raja Wading had shared a picture of the Mehrs on social media, appreciating their effort to connect youths with the teachings of the Gurus, but at the same time had expressed concern over the promotion of a weapon culture.

In response, the Mehrs allegedly not only mentioned weapons in a video but also threatened Wading. According to the FIR, in the interview, the Mehrs went as far as saying that just as Indira Gandhi was assassinated, one day Wading would also be eliminated.

The accused was not appearing in court
According to the police, the Mehrs had previously received bail in this case and had also participated in the investigation. In 2025, the police had filed a chargesheet against him. However, later he stopped appearing in court.

After this, Chief Judicial Magistrate Daisy Bangad issued a non-bailable warrant against him on January 30. The next hearing of this case is scheduled for April 18.

Deported from the UAE, arrived in India
Currently, Amritpal Singh Mehrotra is in the custody of Bathinda police. He was recently deported from the UAE, and the Bathinda police arrested him at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi in connection with the Kanchan Kumari murder case. Now, Ludhiana police will bring him on a production warrant and proceed further in cases related to threat and the Arms Act.
