Kangana Ranaut to Appear in Bathinda Court Today in Farmers’ Protest Defamation Case

Bathinda: Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut will appear in a Bathinda court today in a defamation case related to her social media posts during the farmers’ protests. The last hearing was held on December 15, 2025.

Kangana Ranaut was unable to appear in court due to the ongoing Lok Sabha session. Her lawyer requested an exemption from appearance, following which the court set a date for January 5, 2026.

The matter is related to the time of the farmers’ movement.

This case began during the farmers’ protests against the agricultural laws in Delhi. Bebe Mahinder Kaur, a resident of Bahadurgarh Jandia village in Bathinda, filed a defamation suit against Kangana Ranaut. Mahinder Kaur alleges that Kangana Ranaut posted a defamation case against her on her social media account, claiming that such women bring 100 rupees each to the protests.

To end this matter, Kangana Ranaut had filed a petition in the Supreme Court some time ago, but the apex court did not accept it.
