Almora: The police have taken significant action in the Lamgara region of Almora under ‘Operation Prahar.’ Four contractors have been fined a total of ₹20,000 on charges of employing laborers without police verification.
Police acted on senior officials’ orders
This action was taken under the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandrashekhar Ghodke. Under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police, Harbans Singh and the supervision of CO Almora, Balwant Singh, a police team led by Station House Officer Pramod Pathak executed this operation.
Acting under the provisions of the Uttarakhand Police Act, the police issued a fine of ₹5,000 against each contractor, resulting in the collection of a total penalty of ₹20,000.
