The administration demolished the mosque in Saharanpur on Thursday. 3 JCBs demolished the entire building in just one and a half hours. There was a possibility of a riot, so RRF, PAC and forces from several police stations have been deployed in the village.
Drones kept constant surveillance. The stones kept on the roofs were removed. According to the administration, the land on which the mosque was built belongs to three brothers. The mosque was being built here without permission. The building was demolished.
This action has been taken in Bhojpur of Chilkana area. The issue was raised in the District Panchayat regarding this building. This action has been taken on the orders of the Panchayat President.
They have been building a mosque for the last 2 months. People thought that Istakhar, Nadeem and Ehtesham, who live in Bhojpur village, have land outside the village. They were getting a construction done here for the last 2 months. At first people thought that it was a residential building, but when the building took shape, then it was known that they were building a mosque. After a complaint was lodged with the police, the construction was stopped.
The issue of building a mosque without permission reached the district panchayat. Junior engineer Adesh Kumar said, the builders were given notice on May 7. They were constructing a religious place without permission.
The brothers gave in writing that they will stop the construction
In response, they had given written consent that they will stop the construction. Despite this, preparations were being made to put the lintel secretly. On Thursday, many senior officials including SDM Sadar Subodh Kumar, ASP Manoj Yadav, JE Adesh Kumar of the District Panchayat reached the village with 3 bulldozers.
There is a Muslim population in the village, so the force was first deployed in the village. The building was demolished in just one and a half hours.
ASP Manoj Kumar Yadav says- Law and order of the village was also our priority, so people were talked to. As a precaution, police from Thana Mandi, Kotwali Dehat, Thana Sarsawa and Chilkana were deployed. The entire village was monitored with drone cameras.
No one protested in the village
There was no protest of any kind in the village during the demolition. Due to strict monitoring by the administration, no one was allowed to go towards the construction site. Police force was deployed on the streets and main roads of the village. There was complete silence in the village during the entire operation.
