    Seven Family Members in Ludhiana Test Positive for Rabies After Dog Bite a Year Ago

    Ludhiana: A shocking case has come to light in Jagraon, Ludhiana. Seven members of the same family showed symptoms of rabies and rushed to the Jagraon Civil Hospital. Doctors, finding their condition serious, sent them directly to PGI Chandigarh.

    According to reports, a family member was bitten by a dog about a year ago, but they didn’t administer an anti-rabies injection. When the bite wounds healed, no one noticed. Within a few days, the entire family began showing symptoms of rabies. All seven members of the family tested positive for rabies.

    Rabies Symptoms Appear in Entire Family

    Within days, all seven family members began showing rabies symptoms. Doctors confirmed they tested positive and were immediately sent to PGI Chandigarh for treatment.

    The family lives near Sherpur Chowk

    According to reports, the family that tested positive for rabies lives near Sherpur Chowk in Jagraon. The head of the family works in a factory. He, his wife, and three children, along with his sister-in-law’s two children, have also been found to have symptoms. Her children have also lived with her for a year.

    The dog bite was not vaccinated

    The doctor says that a family member was bitten by a dog a year ago. They didn’t get vaccinated after that. The person bitten developed rabies, and that may have infected the other members. She said that testing will confirm whether the dog has rabies, but the symptoms are consistent with rabies.

    Saliva was coming out of the mouth of the patients

    The doctor explained that when all seven patients were brought to the hospital, they were salivating profusely and were unable to speak properly. Both symptoms are typical of rabies. When asked, they said the dog bites occurred a year ago. Currently, all seven patients are undergoing treatment at PGI Chandigarh under the close supervision of doctors.
