FIR Against Shiv Sena Punjab Chief Rajiv Tandon, Two Others Over Alleged Objectionable Remarks on Panj Kakar

Ludhiana: Ladowal Police have registered an FIR against three individuals, including Shiv Sena Punjab Chairman Rajiv Tandon, over alleged objectionable remarks related to the Panj Kakar (Five Ks), the five sacred symbols of Sikhism. The case was registered after a complaint claimed that a viral social media video contained remarks that hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.

Police have booked the accused under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and started an investigation into the allegations. Officials said they are verifying the authenticity of the viral video and examining all related facts.

Complaint Filed Over Viral Social Media Video

According to the complaint filed by Bhavandeep Singh, a resident of Sidhwan Kalan village in Jagraon, Ludhiana, he was present at the Ladowal toll plaza along with members of Sikh organisations when he came to know about a video circulating on social media.

The complaint alleged that the video was shared by Pawan Maan, Rajiv Tandon, and Bhanu Pratap, and contained objectionable and derogatory remarks regarding the Sikh community and the Kakars (Five Ks).

The complainant stated that the alleged comments hurt religious sentiments and could create tension between communities.

Police Investigating Viral Video, Allegations

Based on the complaint, Ladowal Police registered a case against all three accused under Section 299 of the BNS.

Police officials said the investigation is underway and the authenticity of the video, along with the circumstances surrounding its circulation, is being examined.

Authorities have not released further details regarding any arrests or additional action in the case.

Rajiv Tandon Responds to Allegations

Reacting to the FIR, Rajiv Tandon said that Hindus in Punjab are facing difficulties and claimed that Shiv Sena Punjab has always worked for brotherhood and the unity and integrity of the country.

He said the organisation would continue its work despite legal action and notices. Tandon also raised concerns regarding political representation and justice for the Hindu community in Punjab.

Earlier Incident Involving Tandon’s Convoy

The FIR comes days after another incident involving Rajiv Tandon’s vehicle on Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana, where some Nihang Sikhs allegedly stopped his pilot vehicle and damaged one of its windows.

Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control, allowing Tandon’s vehicle to move safely.

Following the incident, Shiv Sena leaders and workers staged a protest outside the Police Commissioner’s office, demanding strict action against those responsible. The protest was later withdrawn after assurances from police officials. One person was also arrested in connection with the vehicle damage case.
