Youth Arrested in Ludhiana with Illegal Weapon, Pistol and Cartridges Seized

The Ludhiana Rural Police have arrested a young man in possession of an illegal weapon, thereby foiling a major crime. A case has been registered against the accused at the Sadar Raikot Police Station and he has been taken into custody. The police have identified the arrested accused as Lakhbir Singh, alias Lakhi, a resident of village Lohatbandi.

A country-made .32 bore pistol, an empty magazine, and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession. SI Harpreet Singh of the Sadar Police Station stated that his team was conducting checks on suspicious individuals at the bus stop in the village Bassian.

Police Act on Confidential Tip-off

During this operation, the police received a confidential tip-off that a young man from Lohatbandi, carrying an illegal weapon, was standing near a canal (sua) on the road leading to village Johla, having arrived there on a motorcycle. He was reportedly plotting to carry out a major criminal act. Acting immediately upon receiving this information, the police team raided the specified location and apprehended the accused on the spot.

Upon searching him, the illegal pistol, the empty magazine, and the two live cartridges were recovered. The police have registered a case against the accused and produced him before the court. The court has remanded him to police custody for further interrogation.

The police are currently attempting to ascertain the source of the weapon specifically, where and for what price the accused acquired it. His criminal record is also being subjected to a thorough investigation.
