Nihangs Rescue Hostage Worker in Ludhiana; Man Forced to Work 18 Hours Daily for ₹200

Ludhiana: In Ludhiana, a group of Nihangs rescued a man who had been held captive by a landlord. The victim alleges that the landlord’s family forced him to work for 18 to 20 hours a day from morning until night while paying him a daily wage of only ₹200 in return. He became ensnared in their trap after borrowing money from the landlord to build a house.

He was unable to visit his children’s school, nor could he attend any family or relatives’ gatherings, whether for joyous occasions or times of sorrow. Whenever he asked to go home, the landlord would tell him to divorce his wife, promising, “We will take care of you and your children.” He endured a life akin to that of a hostage for nearly six years.

Eventually, his distressed wife approached Nihang Baba Kuldeep Singh. Following this intervention, the Nihang group facilitated the seizure of the landlord’s pistol by the police, subsequently rescued the man from their captivity, and handed him over to his family. The accused landlord’s family declined to comment on the matter. The police stated that an investigation into the case is underway.
