Ludhiana: Uncontrolled bus crushes 7 people after collision with multiple vehicles, 1 dead

On Thursday afternoon, a bus lost control in a crowded area near a bus stand in Ludhiana, Punjab. The speeding bus hit an e-rickshaw and a bike, crushing the bike rider and bystanders.

Seven people were injured in the accident, one of whom died. A mother and daughter were injured, and a woman suffered a broken leg. A young man suffered serious injuries to his arm and leg. All of them were admitted to the Civil Hospital and are receiving treatment.

The bus driver fled the scene after the accident. Police have launched a search for him. A police officer stated that the cause of the accident appears to be a brake failure. However, the driver is being searched for. The exact cause will be determined once he is apprehended.

Traffic police officer Kulwant Singh, who was present at the scene, said that the bus was coming from Nangal. When it reached the bus stand, it first hit a bike. Further down, the bus hit an e-rickshaw, crushing the people standing near the e-rickshaw and causing serious injuries.

The police officer said that as soon as the bus stopped on the sidewalk after the collision, its driver, Jaswant Singh, fled the scene. People tried to catch him, but he could not be caught. There were also passengers on the bus when this collision took place.
