Ludhiana, Punjab: The district administration in Jalandhar has implemented stringent security measures for the upcoming Zila Parishad and Block Committee elections.
DC Himanshu Jain Orders Special Attention
District Magistrate and Election Officer Himanshu Jain has directed the police to maintain strict vigilance during polling and to pay special attention to sensitive polling stations.
Special patrols will be conducted at these sensitive polling stations, and DSP-level officers will regularly visit their respective areas to take immediate action against any attempts to influence voters. They will also report any issues to the concerned returning officer.
Security Tightened in Polling Stations
Approximately 150 polling stations in Jalandhar Rural, Khanna, and Jalandhar Commissionerate have been identified as sensitive. Tight security arrangements have been made at each sensitive station, and administrative and police teams will be continuously deployed.
Since the voting will be conducted through ballot papers, polling teams have been instructed to remain vigilant. The administration has also clarified that no unauthorized person will be allowed entry into the polling stations, and police personnel will be deployed with the polling teams.
Officers of the SSP, DCP, and DSP ranks will remain in the field throughout the day and will respond promptly to any reported law and order problems. Rural SSP Ankur Gupta has directed all police officers to remain active and monitor activities during the elections.
