Major Drug Bust: 3 Masterminds Held, 24.5 Kg Heroin Recovered in Punjab

Chandigarh: In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, the Punjab Police’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has busted a cross-border smuggling module in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF). Three alleged masterminds have been arrested in the operation.

24.5 kg of heroin and ₹21 lakh worth of drug money recovered
During the operation, police recovered 24.5 kg of heroin and ₹21 lakh in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking. This seizure is considered one of the major successes in recent times.

Three Key Accused Arrested
According to police, the three arrested accused are key members of this smuggling network. Initial interrogation has revealed that these individuals were playing a key role in the supply and distribution of drugs in the state.

Investigation into Pakistan Connection Continues
Preliminary investigations indicate links between this network and handlers based in Pakistan. Officials believe the gang was smuggling drugs into India under instructions from across the border.
