Major police reshuffle in Punjab, 20 officers transferred; SSPs of 6 districts replaced

Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Tuesday carried out a major administrative reshuffle in the police department, transferring a total of 20 police officers, including 8 IPS and 12 PPS officers. The SSPs of six districts—Malerkotla, Pathankot, Patiala, Mohali, Bathinda, and Mansa—were also transferred in this reshuffle.

Gurpreet Bhullar takes command of Border Range

Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has been appointed the new IGP Border Range, Amritsar. Meanwhile, Jyoti Yadav, wife of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, has been removed from the post of SSP Bathinda and assigned the responsibility of Commander, 82nd Battalion PAP, Chandigarh.

These officers get new responsibilities

Varun Sharma (IPS 2014)has been appointed SSP Mohali. He was previously SSP Patiala.
Harmandeep Singh Hans (IPS 2015) has been appointed SSP Patiala. He was previously posted in Mohali.
Suhail Qasim Mir (IPS 2017) has been appointed SSP Bathinda. He previously held the position of AIG Personnel-1, CPO Punjab.
Vaibhav Chaudhary (IPS 2020) has been appointed SSP Mansa. Previously, he was SP Headquarters, Patiala.
Harkamalpreet Singh (PPS) has been appointed SSP Malerkotla. He will replace Gurmeet Singh (PPS).
Manpreet Singh (PPS) has been appointed SSP Pathankot. He will replace Daljinder Singh Dhillon (PPS).
