Haldwani: An MBA student committed suicide in Haldwani. The deceased’s father served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Assam Rifles. Police have conducted a postmortem and have begun an investigation. According to reports, he had an argument with his family on Monday night.

After that, he went to his room after dinner at around 9 pm. When he didn’t come out of his room until late Tuesday morning, his mother went to check on him. She found the young man’s body hanging from a rope inside a blue drum filled with wheat, which was kept on a rack above the stairs.

The mother was the first to see the body.

Declared Dead at Hospital
His family immediately rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. According to Haldwani police, the deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Dinesh Mahara, a resident of Girija Vihar Phase-6, Kamaluganj, Mukhani. The deceased’s mother, Kusum Mahara, was the first to see Dinesh’s body.

Injury Marks Raise Questions
According to the police, two cuts were found on one of Dinesh’s hands. It is suspected that he attempted to cut a vein in his hand before hanging himself. The deceased was the youngest of three siblings, while his elder brother works in Pilibhit.

Police Begin Detailed Investigation
Police recovered and confiscated Dinesh’s mobile phone from the scene. Police are examining the phone to determine the motive behind the incident. Preliminary investigations have revealed a family dispute, but police are also investigating other aspects.
