Amritsar: The special Miri-Piri Khalsa March was flagged off from Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar on Friday, with a large gathering of Sikh devotees participating in the religious procession.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal joined the march and extended his greetings to the Sikh community on the occasion of Miri-Piri Diwas. He said the journey aims to spread the message and principles of Miri-Piri across Punjab.

The march was also attended by Giani Kulwinder Singh Garjakh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, SGPC president.

Sukhbir Badal Appeals for Participation and Seva

Sukhbir Badal called upon people to actively participate in the march and contribute through seva, cleanliness drives and langar services during the journey.

He said the march is an opportunity to connect people with Sikh history, traditions and the teachings of the Gurus.

March Aims to Connect Youth With Sikh Values

The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib appealed to devotees to participate enthusiastically in the historic march.

The main objective of the journey is to encourage Sikh youth to stay connected with their identity, values and teachings while creating awareness against social issues like drug addiction.

Route of Miri-Piri Khalsa March

On the first day, the march will pass through:

• Hall Gate
• Putlighar
• Chheharta Sahib
• Attari

The participants will halt at Gurdwara Baba Buddha Sahib, Beerh Thatha for the night.

The journey will later move through Sri Darbar Sahib Tarn Taran, Goindwal Sahib, Dharmkot (Moga), Wajidpur, Faridkot, Jaito, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Bathinda.

March to Conclude at Damdama Sahib

The Miri-Piri Khalsa March will conclude on August 3 at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo.

Organisers said the march is aimed at spreading the message of Miri-Piri, Sikh principles and community service throughout Punjab.
