Moga: Block Samiti member kidnapped in broad daylight! Congress leaders stage protest

A major controversy has arisen in Moga ahead of the Block Committee Chairman election. Congress Party Block Committee member Amandeep Sangha was kidnapped at gunpoint by unidentified car-borne assailants. After this incident, Congress leaders and workers became enraged, blocked the road outside Sadar police station and protested against the government.

According to information, the Block Committee Chairman election was to be held at around 11 am on Thursday. The current Block Committee member Amandeep Sangha was going to Moga DC office in an Alto car with his brother Jaswant Singh. When they reached near village Ghallkalan, some unidentified persons in three-four vehicles surrounded their car, forced Amandeep Sangha into their vehicle at gunpoint and fled. In this incident, Moga Congress Halqa In-charge Malvika Sood alleged that Aam Aadmi Party lacks majority, and her Block Committee member was kidnapped to influence the Chairman election.

He said that this is a murder of democracy and the Congress party needs justice. He also demanded that the elections to be held today be cancelled immediately. Meanwhile, Amandeep Sangha’s brother Jaswant Singh said that both of them were going to the DC office in an Alto car, when on the way, people in 3-4 vehicles surrounded their car and forcibly took his brother with them at gunpoint.

After the incident, Moga District Congress leaders and workers started a protest against the government outside the Sadar police station and demanded that the elections be cancelled and Amandeep Sangha be safely recovered as soon as possible.
