Nainital: Car goes out of control and plunges into gorge; five dead, one critically injured

A horrific road accident occurred on the Bhawali-Sanatorium motor road on Thursday afternoon. A car went out of control and plunged into a gorge approximately 100 feet deep. Five occupants of the car lost their lives in the accident, while one person sustained critical injuries.

Upon receiving information about the mishap, the police, SDRF personnel, and local residents rushed to the scene. A relief and rescue operation was launched to retrieve the victims from the gorge. The injured individual has been immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.

Kotwal Prakash Singh Mehra stated that the accident took place around 2:00 PM. The car suddenly went out of control while traveling on the Bhawali-Sanatorium road and plummeted into the deep gorge. The crash was so severe that five people succumbed to their injuries on the spot.

The accident has cast a pall of gloom over the region. The police are currently engaged in identifying the deceased and investigating the causes of the accident.
