30.5 kg dry ganja seized during joint operation at Agartala Railway Station

In a separate incident, the GRP and RPF apprehended two women drug traffickers at Agartala Railway Station on Saturday evening. The women, identified as Uma Devi (50) and Kajal Devi (35), both from Saharsa in Bihar, were carrying 10.755 kg of dry ganja hidden in two large pit bags. The duo was attempting to smuggle the drugs via the Deoghar Express, using the station as a transit point to transport the contraband to other states.

A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Agartala GRP Police Station. Authorities suspect that a larger network may be involved, and further arrests are expected. The market value of the seized ganja is approximately Rs 1.6 lakh. The two women will be presented in court for legal proceedings.
