Noida: Approximately 100 individuals were stranded on the roof of a four-story building in Noida when a fire erupted due to a gas leak, officials announced on Wednesday.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities, as all those trapped were rescued by police and fire department personnel.
Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey explained that around 11:30 pm on Tuesday, a fire broke out on the first floor of a building in Naya Gaon, Phase-2 police station area. In response, six fire engines were quickly dispatched from various centers. Within five minutes, the rescue team successfully evacuated approximately 100 people from the rooftop. After two hours of continued efforts, the fire was finally brought under control.
He added that residents on all floors—first to fourth—including children and women, fled to the roof in an attempt to escape the blaze and called for help.
