Rain alert in 20 districts of UP including Varanasi: Mercury reaches 41 degrees; effect of WD weakened

Varanasi, May 9: A rain alert has been issued in 20 districts of UP today. Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that the effect of the western disturbance and weather system has started weakening.

Except for Terai, Bundelkhand and some western districts, the temperature will start rising from Wednesday in the rest of the region. The maximum temperature is expected to rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in the next 5 to 6 days.

Now the heat is gradually increasing. While the sun is shining brightly during the day, it is also getting hot at night. However, the weather was pleasant due to rain and strong winds in the last few days. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of rain in the state till May 11. On May 9, there may be rain and thundershowers in some places in eastern and western UP. During this time, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning as well as gusty winds.

Department, on Friday, thunderstorms and lightning along with gusty winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph are expected in Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Jalaun, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravi Das Nagar, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas.
