Rain alert in 51 districts of UP; Monsoon delayed by up to 10 days

Varanasi, June 1: The weather is changing rapidly in UP. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 51 districts of the state. Winds will blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour. There are clouds in Lucknow and the surrounding districts on Sunday morning.

On Saturday, the weather suddenly changed in Jhansi in the afternoon. It rained heavily for about 20 minutes. It also rained in Sonbhadra. While there was a storm in Prayagraj in the evening. A dust storm blew at a speed of 50 Km in Meerut.

The highest rainfall in the state in 24 hours was recorded in Maharajganj at 28.9 mm. Orai of Jalaun was the hottest. The temperature here was recorded at 43.4°C.

Manoj Srivastava, meteorologist of Varanasi BHU, said- Due to the western disturbance activated from the Bay of Bengal, rain and strong winds are blowing in various districts of UP. He told that this time it is being seen that there is no heat wave in Nautapa but people of many districts are troubled due to the humid heat. Apart from the day, there is humid heat.

Monsoon will arrive in UP after 10 days

After entering on May 24, the monsoon has hit 18 states. The depression formed in the Bay of Bengal will move towards Bangladesh via Sagar Island. This depression will pull the monsoon in the opposite direction instead of pushing it towards North India.

This will slow down the speed of the monsoon. Its effect will be visible in two to three days. It is estimated that the monsoon may take a break of one week to 10 days. Due to which the wait for rain may increase in many parts of Uttar Pradesh.
