Varanasi, June 24: Today marks one month since the monsoon entered the country. It entered Kerala on 24 May, 8 days before the scheduled date. So far, it has covered 24 states. It may enter Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh in the next 24 hours.
It may take 2-3 more days for the monsoon to cover the entire country. That is, the monsoon can cover the entire country 10-12 days earlier. Usually this happens by July 8, when it reaches Pokhran in western Rajasthan.
The 50-year record of rain in June in Uttar Pradesh has been broken. This year there has been 25% more rainfall than the average rainfall between 1971 and 2020. This year the state has received an average rainfall of 66.9 mm between June 1 and June 23, while the estimate was 53.7 mm.
With the arrival of monsoon in Uttarakhand, the period of natural disasters has also started. A woman traveler died on the spot when a huge boulder fell on the car of a Haryana devotee returning from Badrinath. A large amount of debris entered the shops due to the overflowing of the rain drain on the Kedarnath walking route. About half a dozen shops have been damaged.
