Severe heatwave grips Uttar Pradesh: Rain, Thurderstorms expected in some districts

Varanasi, May 19: Uttar Pradesh will have to face severe heat today as well. The weather department has issued a heat wave warning in 18 districts of the state on Monday. Also, there is a possibility of drizzle in 14 districts. Along with light rain, wind may blow at a speed of 40 to 50.

According to the report released on Sunday evening, Jhansi was the hottest district with a temperature of 45.4°C. On the other hand, if we talk about the minimum temperature, Meerut was recorded at 24.6°C.

Weather changed due to moisture from Bay of Bengal.

Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said- A new disturbance and weather system is getting active in UP. The effect of easterly winds carrying sufficient amount of moisture from Bay of Bengal will be visible in the entire state from today.

Due to this, there may be drizzle with thunder and lightning in various areas of the state along with the movement of clouds. Due to this, the effect of heat wave may reduce in some districts. The temperature will increase again after the next 3-4 days. By the end of this month, the mercury is expected to reach 47 degrees.

  • 20 May: There may be rain in entire Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of lightning. Winds will blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour.

  • 21 May: The whole of Uttar Pradesh will be cloudy. It may rain at some places. There is a possibility of hailstorm.

  • 22 May: There is a possibility of rain in Uttar Pradesh. There may be light rain at some places and heavy rain at other places. Apart from this, strong winds will blow.

  • 23 May: Strong winds will blow across Uttar Pradesh. Clouds are also likely to remain. During this time, it may also rain in some districts.

It is a season of fluctuations of heat and rain. A little carelessness can make you sick. Patients of viral fever, cough, stomach ache, headache, diarrhea and vomiting are reaching hospitals in large numbers.

Dr. VK Singh, Nodal Officer of Emergency, Varanasi Divisional Hospital says-

“It is important to avoid going to crowded places. There is a high possibility of infection spreading by coming in contact with patients suffering from cold and fever. Keep drinking water from time to time. Do not remain hungry. If you are coughing for many days along with fever, then get necessary tests done on the advice of a doctor. Do not take medicine on your own.”

Monsoon may arrive in UP on June 20

This time the monsoon may reach Kerala 4 days before the scheduled time of June 1. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon will hit the Kerala coast on May 27. IMD said that after reaching Kerala on June 1, the monsoon covers other states by July 8.

According to meteorologists, its effect will be seen in UP as well. There may be a delay of only 2 days from the scheduled date of 18 June in the state. This time it is estimated that on 20 June the monsoon will knock in Purvanchal via Sonbhadra. However, last time too the possibility of monsoon arriving on 20 June was expressed. But, it came with a delay of 10 days. Whereas, it entered Kerala on 30 May, two days before the scheduled date.
