Kanpur: As India prepares to face New Zealand in the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy in Dubai, cricket fans are filled with anticipation, hoping that the team will avenge their loss to New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semi-finals and lift the trophy.
Suyash Gupta, an enthusiastic supporter of the Indian team, expressed confidence in India’s victory, saying, “India is a Vishwa Guru, and we don’t need any introduction in cricket. We will definitely win. Our best wishes are with the Indian team, and we hope they can heal the wounds of the 2019 semi-finals loss.”
Another fan expressed high hopes for Indian players like Shubhman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Virat Kohli, adding that spinners could play a crucial role in the match.
Ashish Gupta, another supporter, said, “India is currently the best team, but New Zealand is also performing well. There may be ups and downs, but with the likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Rohit Sharma, we have the strongest batting lineup.”
In a unique display of support, Zuhaib Khan, an artist from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, created a six-foot-long wall painting of Indian captain Rohit Sharma lifting the Champions Trophy. Speaking to ANI, Zuhaib said, “I’m an artist, and since today’s the final, I made a painting of Captain Rohit Sharma lifting the trophy. I hope my dream comes true.”
The final between India and New Zealand will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where both teams will be looking to adjust their strategies from previous encounters. The pitch, known for its assistance to bowlers, particularly spinners, will play a significant role in shaping the outcome of the match.
