Patna, May 26: Covid-19 cases are continuously increasing in India. In Bihar, a doctor of AIIMS Patna and a 31-year-old man were confirmed infected on Monday. This is the first case in the state in the current wave of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, four more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in West Bengal, taking the number of active cases to 12. A health department official said on Monday that the patients have respiratory problems. Most of the cases have been reported from Kolkata and its surrounding areas.
752 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the last week. The total number of cases in the country has reached 1,009. Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi have reported the highest number of new cases in the last week. 335 new cases have been reported in Kerala, with which the total number of active cases has reached 430.
153 new cases have been reported in Maharashtra and 99 in Delhi. There are currently 104 active cases in Delhi. After these cities, 83 cases have been reported in Gujarat. 47 cases have been reported in Karnataka and 15 in Uttar Pradesh.
So far, 7 deaths due to new cases of COVID in the country
Amidst the increasing new cases of coronavirus in the country, 7 people have also died so far. On Sunday, a 21-year-old COVID-19 patient undergoing treatment at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Kalwa Hospital in Thane, Maharashtra, died. The young man has been undergoing treatment since May 22. So far, 4 people have died due to coronavirus in the state.
Earlier on May 17, an 84-year-old man died in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The health department said that the elderly man died due to multi-organ failure. However, his COVID report came positive on May 24. Two people have died of COVID in Kerala.
