Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday announced a financial aid of Rs 2 lakh to Sandeep Kumar Srivastava of Gorakhpur, whose house was extensively damaged in a recent fire. The assistance was given from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund to help him recover from the loss.

Earlier on the same day, Adityanath held a public meeting, Janta Darshan, at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur, where he listened to the grievances and concerns of the gathered people.

On Sunday, the CM praised the opening of the BrahMos Missile Integration Unit in Lucknow, calling it a crucial step for India’s defense. He stated that weapons produced in Lucknow “will shake the enemy.” The unit, part of the Defence Industrial Corridor initiative, will manufacture BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, enhancing India’s defense strength and decreasing reliance on imports.

While addressing a crowd in Gorakhpur, CM Yogi referred to Pakistan as “the biggest terror state” and highlighted that the BrahMos missile, which recently targeted a Pakistani aircraft, will now be produced in Lucknow. He emphasized that these weapon systems will have a strong impact on adversaries.

His comments came amidst Operation Sindoor, India’s military effort to target terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistani-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The BrahMos manufacturing unit supports the Make-in-India campaign, promoting self-reliance in defense and positioning Lucknow as a key defense manufacturing center.

The Chief Minister also called on citizens to stay alert against “anti-national” elements and urged a boycott of anyone speaking against India’s interests. “We are secure when our country is secure, and that begins with putting the nation first. People should be aware of anyone making anti-national statements and boycott them,” he concluded.
