NEET: 10th Arrest in Paper Leak Case; CBI apprehends Coaching Institute Director in Latur

Taking significant action in connection with a paper leak case, the CBI has arrested an operator of a coaching institute in Latur, Maharashtra. According to officials, the arrested accused has been identified as Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, who runs a coaching institute named “Renukai Chemistry Classes (RCC).”

During searches conducted by the agency, a leaked question paper for a medical entrance examination was discovered on Motegaonkar’s mobile phone. He was subsequently arrested following the search.

Leaked NEET Paper Found on Mobile Phone

The CBI conducted raids at the accused’s premises on Sunday. During the investigation, a leaked question paper for the NEET-UG examination was allegedly recovered from Motegaonkar’s mobile phone. Following this discovery, the agency placed him under arrest. The investigative agency alleges that Shivraj Motegaonkar was an active member of an organized syndicate involved in leaking and circulating the question paper for the NEET-UG 2026 examination.

Question Paper Obtained as Early as April 23
According to the CBI, the accused—acting in collusion with other co-accused individuals—obtained the question paper and its answer key on April 23, 2026, well in advance of the NEET-UG examination. He subsequently circulated this paper to several individuals. Currently, the CBI is actively investigating the case and is also scrutinizing the roles of other individuals linked to the paper leak network. Further arrests in connection with this case are anticipated.

10 Arrests Made So Far
In connection with the paper leak case, the CBI has so far made 10 arrests, including that of Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar. Apart from Motegaonkar, those arrested to date include Manisha Gurunath Mandhare, Prof. P.V. Kulkarni, Mangilal Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, Yash Yadav, Shubham Khairnar, Manisha Waghmare, and Dhananjay Lokhande.
