Dehradun: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly welcomed the cabinet decisions taken by the Uttarakhand government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, regarding energy and fuel conservation. Describing these decisions as being in the best interest of both the nation and the state, BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt appealed to the general public to follow suit.

Mahendra Bhatt stated that the appeal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the citizens regarding energy security is beneficial for all of us in our daily lives. He noted that, in light of the current Gulf crisis, the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, Union Ministers and the Chief Minister have sent a powerful message by curtailing the use of their official vehicles and other amenities to promote energy conservation. Following this very same pattern, the BJP government in Uttarakhand has also taken steps that resonate with the sentiments of the public.

The BJP has extended its full support to the short-term and long-term reforms implemented by the government with immediate effect. These primarily include decisions such as observing a ‘No Vehicle Day,’ adopting the ‘One Officer-One Vehicle’ policy, encouraging ‘Work from Home’ arrangements, emphasizing the Electric Vehicle Policy and the expansion of solar energy, and limiting foreign travel for government officials. Additionally, these measures encompass initiatives such as ‘Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan’ (My India, My Contribution), promoting natural farming, and reducing the consumption of edible oils.

State President Bhatt remarked that the people of Uttarakhand have consistently extended their full support to every decision taken by PM Modi. Whether it was the Swachhata Abhiyan (Cleanliness Drive), demonetization, voluntarily giving up gas subsidies, or responding to appeals made during the COVID-19 pandemic, the public has offered a positive response every single time. He expressed confidence that the people of the state would similarly extend their full support to this latest appeal regarding the conservation of petroleum products, gold, and silver. He affirmed that these joint efforts by the government and the public undertaken in the national interest would undoubtedly bear fruit, and we would certainly succeed in overcoming this global crisis.
