The wedding also saw the presence of foreign guests, as the groom’s family flew in from Australia. Some of his friends also flew in from Canada.

Controversy over claims of ₹8-9 crore wasted

Several posts on social media claimed that ₹8-9 crore was spent on the wedding. However, Nishan Singh, a young man who played DJ at the wedding, has denied these claims. He says the amount spent wasn’t in crores. He says the total was only around ₹3 lakh, mostly in ₹10 notes. Some foreign currency, including dollars, was also thrown in.
