NRI woman murder case: Accused husband nabbed from Rajasthan

Police in Amritsar, Punjab, have achieved a breakthrough in the murder case of an NRI woman at a hotel. The accused husband, who had killed his wife in the hotel and fled, has finally been apprehended. The accused was arrested from Ganganagar in Rajasthan and brought to Amritsar.

The incident took place a few days ago in a hotel room in Amritsar, where the body of a woman named Prabhjot Kaur was found. The deceased was originally from Gurdaspur and resided in Austria. She had come to India with her husband to attend a family function.

NRI Woman found dead in hotel

Hotel staff became suspicious when the accused did not return to the room for a long time and there was no activity inside. When there was no response after knocking on the door, the police were informed. Upon breaking down the door, the police found the woman’s body under the bed. The investigation revealed that the woman had been stabbed multiple times with a sharp object.

The deceased’s brother alleged that the husband suspected his wife’s character, and this was the reason for the brutal murder. The deceased also has a six-month-old son, whom the accused did not take with him.

Husband arrested from Ganganagar, Rajasthan 

After the incident, the accused was on the run, and police suspected he might try to flee the country. Following continuous technical surveillance and pressure, the police arrested the accused from Ganganagar in Rajasthan.

The accused was produced before a court in Amritsar, where the police have obtained a three-day remand. Police say that more important revelations are expected soon in the case. Officials believe that the accused’s statement could reveal the entire conspiracy behind the murder.
