Amit Shah remembers Partition victims
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to the victims of Partition, describing August 14, 1947, as one of the most brutal chapters in history.
Shah said millions suffered and tens of millions were forced to leave their homes, properties and loved ones during the Partition.
He said the memories of the tragedy should be preserved so that future generations understand the suffering caused by the division.
Shah also said that through Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, the government is taking the memories of the tragedy to the younger generation so that forces seeking to divide the country again do not succeed.
He said ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ should remain the country’s supreme goal.
Yogi Adityanath pays tribute to Partition victims
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also remembered those who lost their lives during Partition.
He said the Partition of 1947 was not merely a division of geographical boundaries but also shattered the dreams, relationships and emotions of countless families.
Adityanath said the day serves as a reminder of the suffering caused by Partition and carries a message to place the unity and integrity of the nation above everything else.
He paid tribute to the innocent people who lost their lives and said their memories should continue to inspire efforts to build a strong, united and indivisible India.
