PM Modi to inaugurate 4 Amrit stations

A railway revolution has been announced in the country, just as Nitin Gadkari is launching a road revolution. In Punjab, four railway stations have been renovated alongside this railway revolution. The Prime Minister is visiting Jalandhar on July 17th to inaugurate the Jalandhar Cantonment station. Three other stations in Punjab, including Mohali, Muktsar Sahib, and Anandpur Sahib, have also been renovated at significant expense.

The Amrit Bharat Railway Station renovations are not limited to these four stations in Punjab; currently, 75 railway stations across the country have been renovated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will personally inaugurate the Jalandhar Cantonment railway station tomorrow and will virtually inaugurate the remaining three stations from there. The Prime Minister’s visit to Punjab, and especially Jalandhar Cantonment, indicates that the Modi government is taking Punjab very seriously in view of the upcoming elections.

All stations, including Jalandhar Cantt, have been developed as modern passenger transport hubs. They feature world-class amenities while retaining the Indian touch, meaning local heritage and identity. The government has revamped the stations to provide improved passenger amenities, including easy access, modern waiting rooms, elevated platforms, elevators, escalators, and other modern passenger amenities.

Punjab BJP State President Kewal Singh Dhillon stated that the development of these four stations will strengthen Punjab’s railway infrastructure and provide world-class public facilities to the people. Whether it’s railways, roads, or new investments, the Modi government is continuously accelerating Punjab’s development by focusing on these areas.

However, if we pay attention to the smallest details, it can be said that while the railway infrastructure is being revamped in this way, special attention should also be paid to the convenience of senior passengers.

First and foremost, the fare concessions given to senior passengers should be restored as they were before the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that along with the revamp of the stations, the railway’s administrative structure should also be improved to ensure passenger convenience.
