Fazilka (Punjab) : Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has begun a four-day tour of the border districts. Today, he arrived in Jalalabad, located in Fazilka, where he met with and addressed members of the village security committees in Jodha Bhaini village, which is very close to the Indo-Pak border.
During his address, Governor Kataria stated that village security committees have been established in six districts of Punjab. He emphasized that each committee member will be directly connected with the Raj Bhawan, allowing them to better understand and address the issues faced by the border areas.
The Governor called on the people to unite against anti-national forces. He emphasized that village security committees should convene at least once a month. He announced the appointment of a nodal officer for the security committee in each village to enhance coordination between the community and the administration.
The Governor noted that the neighboring country has come to realize its inability to confront India. As a result, it is engaging in activities such as attempting to smuggle drugs using drones. He highlighted that while the village security committees are working to raise awareness against such harmful individuals, they also play a crucial role in informing the police and Border Security Force (BSF) about these activities.
He stated that individuals providing information would be honored for their efforts. Present at the event were Jalalabad MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy, Abohar MLA Sandeep Jakhar, and district administrative officers.
