Ludhiana, Punjab: A speeding motorcyclist struck a woman. The pedestrian was struck and killed by the motorcycle. The woman was reportedly four months pregnant and 29 years old.
The motorcyclist fled the scene as soon as the woman fell to the ground. Bystanders tried to lift her, but she remained unharmed. They immediately rushed her to the hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. The deceased has been identified as Geeta, a resident of Talwad Colony.
Victim Was Out Buying Household Items
The woman’s family members said she was going to a nearby shop to buy household items when a speeding sports bike hit her. The impact caused her to fall onto her stomach and she became unconscious. By the time people took her to the hospital, she had died.
Mother of Two Young Daughters
The woman has two daughters aged five and seven.
The woman’s brother-in-law, Nitish Kumar, said she has two daughters, one seven years old and the other five. Her husband works in a factory. The biker who hit her fled the scene. He demanded that the police immediately arrest the accused.
FIR Registered Against Unknown Accused
Police registered an FIR against the unknown accused.
Investigating officer ASI Gurmeet Singh of Jamalpur police station said that based on the family’s complaint, the police have registered a case against an unknown suspect. He added that the body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem at the Civil Hospital.
