Major police operation in Rupnagar Range: Drug smuggling module busted, over 5 kg drugs seized

Chandigarh: In a major breakthrough against drug smuggling in Punjab, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF Punjab) and Rupnagar Range Police have busted a drug smuggling module. A large quantity of heroin, ICE (crystal meth), cash and a car have been recovered during the operation. The police have arrested a smuggler who was handling the supply chain.

Major Seizures: Heroin, ICE and Cash Seized

The police seized the following drugs and paraphernalia in the operation:

•5.084 kg heroin

•1.681 kg ICE (crystal methamphetamine)

•₹650,000 drug money

•A car used for supply

According to the police, the arrested accused was running the supply chain of the smuggling module.

Links to main handler revealed

Initial investigation has revealed that the accused has links with a main handler who coordinates the supply, delivery and distribution of drugs in the tricity (Chandigarh-Mohali-Panchkula).

This handler plays a key role in connecting local dealers with interstate and foreign smugglers.

FIR registered under NDPS Act

The police have registered an FIR under the NDPS Act in this case.

Officials said that the investigation has been intensified to uncover the back and forth links of the module, so that:

•Source of drugs

•Supply network

•Financial transactions

All aspects of the case can be exposed.
