Punjab Vidhan Sabha session concluded in 11 minutes: Opposition slams government on Law and Order, Land Pooling

Apart from Baljit Singh, tributes were paid to those killed in the Ahmedabad plane crash and Abohar’s textile merchant, Sanjay Verma. After this, the session was adjourned till 10 am on July 11. However, outside the assembly, the opposition surrounded the government on the issue of law and order.

The government blamed the BJP for the law and order situation. They said that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in a jail in Gujarat. There is a BJP government there. He is committing murders in Punjab from jail. At the same time, land is being acquired under land pooling.

Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, while cornering the government on the issue of Bedabi, said that the black-clad people have come to loot the villages. Come to the houses with sticks, not even a single marla of land is to be given to them. We have not received any copy of the bill on Bedabi which is to be brought tomorrow. If the government was serious about this matter, it would have given us a copy of the bill a day or two ago. We would have studied it.

He said that we had requested the speaker to extend the duration of the session. One day will be devoted to law and order and one day to the issue of land pooling. He said that our identity was “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”. Modi has finished the identity of the soldiers, he has to finish the farmers.

CM Mann was also not ready for the land pooling bill

Bajwa alleged that CM Bhagwant Mann himself was not ready for the land pooling bill. CM Mann knows that if he signs it, he will get into trouble. That is why he first refused to sign, but signed it after two hours. If this bill is correct then why has the power been given to the Chief Secretary? Actually, the government will change in 2027 and the Chief Secretary will retire within 2-3 years of the change of government in 2027. Think, who will they catch after that.

Bypassed the rules made by the former Prime Minister

Bajwa said that when the laws for land acquisition were made under the chairmanship of the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, it was clearly stated that the land would be taken from the farmers with their consent and an “environmental study” would be conducted. Apart from this, there were many rules, but nothing is happening.

He warned the people that the black people have come to loot the villages. Come to the houses with sticks, not even a single marla of land should be given to them. When he was asked that Kejriwal talks of giving Nobel Prize to himself, he said that let our turn come. First Kejriwal and then Bhagwant Mann will be given both together.

Complaint given against CM and Kejriwal

On the complaint given by Pratap Singh Bajwa to Chandigarh Police against CM Bhagwant Mann and other leaders, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that one can go and file a complaint wherever he wants. Whatever he has said has been heard by the people of Punjab.

At the same time, he said that action will be taken against drug smugglers and those who break the law and order of the state. He targeted BJP on the pretext of Lawrence. He said that he is getting people killed while sitting in Gujarat jail. He asked the media whose government is in Gujarat. He said that it is BJP’s government.

Bajwa is suffering from mouth disease

when the media asked cabinet minister Aman Arora outside the assembly that Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira also says that the police has done an encounter on the charge of murder of businessman Sanjay Verma in Abohar. That encounter is fake.

On this, Aman Arora said that the Congress high command will have to make its stand clear on this matter. It will have to tell whether it is with the gangsters or with the victim Sanjay Verma. On the other hand, when Bajwa lodged a complaint against him, Arora said that he has a disease of mouthing. First let us say, when there is opposition from everywhere, then he is doing such things.

BJP will form its own cell of goons

Punjab’s Finance Minister Harpal Singh said that strict action will be taken against those who disturb law and order. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is busy saving goons. I think that the BJP will form its own cell of goons. He asked who kept Lawrence in Gujarat. He said when the businessman of Abohar was murdered, everyone felt pain. When the accused were killed, the BJP people are saying that there should be a CBI inquiry. The BJP is doing politics even on this issue.

Your government only creates events

Congress MLA Pargat Singh said that the law and order situation in Punjab is not hidden from anyone. When he was asked that the government claims that those who break the law will not be spared, his answer was that the government creates events. They keep you busy and keep us busy too. This is their way of working. He said that they create a new event and forget the previous one. We are ready for 2027. The Congress party is united.

Businessmen are not safe in Punjab today

BJP MLA Ashwani Sharma said that the Punjab government has completely failed in maintaining law and order. Today, businessmen are not safe at all. The government will have to work in this direction. Just talking about this and that will not work now.

Strict punishment will be made for those guilty of sacrilege

A new bill will be introduced tomorrow in the second session, mainly containing provisions for strict punishment in the case of sacrilege. Preparations are underway to give strict punishment in this. However, there is still a debate whether the punishment will be death or life imprisonment. It has been learned that of course there are laws to deal with crimes related to sacrilege in sections 298 and 299 of the BNS.

But the government wants to make a strict law in this. If the government makes its own law, it will also be sent to the Governor and then to the President for approval. Earlier also laws were made in this regard.
