Punjab BJP Chief Kewal Singh Dhillon Expresses Concern, Condemns Attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal at Sri Hazur Sahib

Punjab BJP chief Kewal Singh Dhillon on Thursday expressed deep concern over the reported attack on Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal at Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib and prayed for his speedy recovery.

Taking to social media, Dhillon said he was deeply disturbed by the news of the attack and prayed for Badal’s good health and “chardi kala”.

‘Violence Has No Place in Society or Democracy’

Condemning the incident, Dhillon said violence has no place in any society or democracy, particularly on the sacred soil of the Sikh Takhts.

“Deeply concerned to learn of the attack on Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal Ji at Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib. Praying for his speedy recovery. Violence has no place especially on the soil of our sacred Takhts,” he said.

Hazur Sahib Symbolises Peace, Service and Sarbat Da Bhala

Dhillon said the holy land of Sri Hazur Sahib gives the message of peace, service, simran and Sarbat Da Bhala. He termed the violent incident at such a sacred place as deeply unfortunate and condemnable.

He said that the sanctity of the Sikh Takhts must always be respected and that violence at such a revered religious site was unacceptable.
