Punjab BJP Leader Ranjit Singh Gill Gets Interim Relief from Arrest

Punjab: BJP leader and real estate businessman Ranjit Singh Gill had approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court to avoid arrest. The case was heard today. The court has given him a big relief for now.

He will not be called for questioning till Monday. Now the next hearing of the case will be on Monday.

Just 12 hours after Gill joined the BJP, the vigilance team raided his four locations. It is special that Haryana CM Nayab Saini inducted him into the BJP at his residence itself.

Gill gave two points in his petition

• In the petition, Gill has said that retaliatory action was initiated against him as soon as he joined the BJP on August 1. He alleged that at the behest of the Aam Aadmi Party government, the Vigilance Department obtained search warrants without any summons, notice or legal process.
• The Vigilance raided four of his premises, including his residence, but no incriminating material was recovered.

The government said Majithia’s investment was revealed

The Vigilance Bureau had taken action against Ranjit Singh Gill. The government claims that this action is related to Bikram Singh Majithia, who was arrested in the disproportionate assets case. Evidence of illegal transactions worth crores of rupees between Majithia and Ranjit Gill has been claimed. Many objectionable documents and digital devices were seized during the raid.

After this, Gill posted on his social media account ‘X’ and said, “This action is political vendetta. I have come to know that Vigilance is talking about some transactions. These entries are from 2012 and are genuine transactions between companies. These transactions have also been added to their income tax records.”
