Voting ends for Tarn Taran by-election: 59.28% voter turnout till 5 pm

Tarn Taran: Voting for the by-election in Punjab’s Tarn Taran assembly constituency ended at 6 p.m. Police closed the gates of polling booths as soon as the clock struck 6 p.m. By 5 p.m., 59.28% voter turnout was recorded.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) accused an SHO of pushing people. They claimed the SHO was acting on government orders. An ASI was also involved. “Our booths are being captured with the help of government machinery,” they said. A video related to this was also shared on social media.

Earlier, a suspicious car was parked inside the BJP counter outside the booth. Police arrived immediately and removed the vehicle. BJP leader Fateh Singh Bajwa posted on social media, writing, “The person who was called a smuggler was made a candidate.”
