Punjab CM Mann to Visit Japan to Invite Top Companies for Investment in Punjab

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will go on a 10-day visit to Japan from tomorrow. During this, he will invite Japanese industrialists to an industrial conference organized by the Punjab government and invite top companies to invest in Punjab.

Chief Minister Mann’s visit to Japan

The Chief Minister’s visit will be of 10 days. During this visit, he will appeal to Japanese companies to increase investment in various sectors of Punjab. The Punjab government wants to cooperate closely with Japan, especially in the areas of advanced machinery, automobile technology, electronics, food processing, solar energy and other new energy technologies.

Online meeting with Japanese delegates

Three days ago, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora held an online meeting with the Japanese delegation. The delegation included representatives from the Japanese Embassy, ​​JETRO, JCCII, and more than 25 major companies operating in India, such as Panasonic, Sumitomo, Nippon, NEC, and Toyota.

Preparations for Punjab Investors Summit 2026

The Punjab government is gearing up to expand its global reach. The 6th Progressive Punjab Investors Summit will be held at ISB Mohali from March 13-15, 2026. The summit will present a strategy to promote trade by integrating several departments under the Invest Punjab platform. This model is called the Invest Punjab Unified Regulatory Model.

Previous International Visits

Chief Minister Mann had earlier visited Germany in September 2022. During that visit, he invited several industrialists to invest in Punjab. He also met ambassadors of various countries and industrialists from various states in Delhi. However, his planned visit to Japan in December 2024 was postponed due to non-approval from the central government.
