Punjab Government Completes Four Years, CM Mann Makes Major Announcements

Chandigarh: To mark the completion of four years of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, Bhagwant Mann held a press conference in Chandigarh, releasing a booklet on the government’s work and making several major announcements. During the meeting, he also targeted the opposition and provided information on ongoing projects in the state.

Plans for an International Cricket Stadium in Amritsar

CM Mann stated that plans are underway to build an international-level cricket stadium in Amritsar, and the search for land is underway. He also noted that Punjab has been awarded the Hockey Asia Cup hosting rights after a long time. The tournament will be held in October, with matches being played in Jalandhar’s Bolton Park and Mohali.

Targeting the Opposition and the Central Government

CM Mann leveled serious allegations against Sukhjinder Randhawa, calling him a gangster leader. He said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah comes to Punjab to talk about gangsters, but gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is being given VIP treatment in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Central Jail.

He also attacked the central government, saying that Narendra Modi had promised ₹15 lakh during the elections, but later dismissed it as a mere slogan.

Mention of Irrigation and Development Schemes

CM Mann said that the Malwa Canal Project will be launched to strengthen the irrigation system in the state. He explained that when his government came to power, only 21 to 22 percent of agriculture was using canal water, which has now increased to over 70 percent.

He also stated that the government has closed 19 toll plazas so far and is preparing to remove three more soon. Furthermore, Punjab has the highest sugarcane rate in the country, with farmers being paid ₹416 per quintal.

Statement on Law and Order and Investigations

CM Mann said that the government has arrested an accused from the Ukraine border and efforts are being made to bring Anmol Bishnoi, who is said to be linked to the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, to India.

He said the state government is continuously taking steps to strengthen law and order and take strict action against criminals.
