Punjab Government Launches ‘Anti-Corruption Action Line’ to Combat Corruption

The state government is continuously making efforts to ensure transparent, effective, and corruption-free administrative systems in Punjab. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is adopting a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. In this direction, the government has launched the ‘Anti-Corruption Action Line,’ which aims to address corruption-related complaints and provide the public with an opportunity to lodge complaints without fear or pressure.

Under this initiative, citizens can lodge complaints related to corruption in government departments. The Punjab government has issued a WhatsApp number 9501200200 and a toll-free helpline number 1800-1800-1000.

You can file a complaint with evidence if a bribe is demanded

If a government official or employee abuses their position and demands a bribe, citizens can file a complaint against them. Audio, video, or other evidence may also be provided along with the complaint.

The purpose of this system is to establish direct contact between the complainant and the administration, enabling people to report corruption-related cases without fear. This system provides a formal means for citizens to reach their complaints with the relevant agencies.

Action Being Taken in Corruption Cases

According to the Punjab government, strict action is being taken on complaints received through the Anti-Corruption Action Line. Criminal cases have been filed against officials and employees in several corruption-related cases, and arrests have also been made in some cases.

The government’s objective is to ensure accountability in the government system and to convey the message that corruption-related complaints are taken seriously, following the established procedures. Further action is taken based on the investigation of complaints.
