Punjab Government Transfers 96 Officers in Major Administrative Revamp

Jalandhar: A major administrative reshuffle has been carried out in Punjab just ahead of the state’s budget presentation. The government has transferred 96 officers in a sweeping move that includes several IAS and PCS officials. The development is being seen as a significant step at the administrative level.

Punjab has once again undergone a major administrative reshuffle. Just before the presentation of the budget, the state government has issued transfer orders for 96 officers. Several IAS and PCS officers have been assigned new responsibilities in this list.

According to the transfer orders, a total of 9 IAS and 87 PCS officers have been transferred. IAS Rajdeep Singh Brar has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development), Bathinda, as well as Additional Chief Administrator, Bathinda Development Authority.

IAS Rubinderjit Singh Brar has been appointed Additional Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, along with Additional Secretary, NRI Affairs, and Additional Secretary, Local Government.

IAS Divya P. has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Jalandhar, IAS Vivek Kumar Modi has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner, Barnala, IAS Krishan Pal Rajput has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), and IAS D. Goyal has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (General).

Third transfer this year

This is the third major administrative change in 2026.

February 16, 2026: Two IAS officers were transferred. Girish Dayalan (IAS 2011) was appointed Additional Managing Director of Markfed and Director of the Punjab Infrastructure Development Board. Preeti Yadav (IAS 2014) was appointed Special Secretary, Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training.

February 14, 2026: Transfer orders were issued for two IAS and six PCS officers. In this reshuffle, Sonali Giri was appointed Administrative Secretary, School Education.

January 21, 2026: Previously, a major transfer of 20 IAS and six PCS officers took place. The Deputy Commissioners of Patiala, Ropar, Nawanshahr, and Barnala were also transferred.
