Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Wednesday ordered the transfer and posting of three senior IAS officers with immediate effect, citing administrative grounds.


According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel, Shri Anurag Verma, IAS (1993), Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, replacing Shri Arshdeep Singh Thind. Verma will also hold the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, replacing Shri Varun Roojam.
Smt Jaspreet Talwar, IAS (1995), who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Planning, and also holding additional charges of Mines and Geology and Justice, has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, in place of Anurag Verma. She will continue to hold additional charge of Mines and Geology and Justice.
Thind Moves to Rural Development and Panchayats
Shri Arshdeep Singh Thind, IAS (2004), who was serving as Administrative Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, with additional charge of Horticulture, has been posted as Administrative Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayats, replacing Shri Ajit Balaji Joshi. He will also hold additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Planning, in place of Jaspreet Talwar, besides continuing as Administrative Secretary, Horticulture.
The order said all the officers concerned have been directed to join their new places of posting immediately.
Meanwhile, Shri Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS (2003), will continue to work as Administrative Secretary, Taxation, while retaining additional charges of Cooperation and Elections (Local Bodies Elections Wing).
Shri Varun Roojam, IAS (2004), will continue as Administrative Secretary, Sports and Youth Services.
