Punjab Police and BSF Seize 2.544 kg Heroin, Arrest Two Youths in Gurdaspur

Gurdaspur: A joint operation of the police and the Border Security Force (BSF) in Punjab has achieved a major success. Superintendent of Police (D) D.K. Chaudhary said that two youths were arrested on a motorcycle during a check post at Kalanaur Rudiana Mor yesterday.

2.544 kg heroin seized

During a check post, the police recovered 2.544 kg heroin. Initial investigation has revealed that the narcotic substance was smuggled into India from Pakistan and was meant to be supplied to the accused onward.

Two accused arrested

The arrested youths are identified as:

1.Mangal Singh alias Mangu, son of Kuldeep Singh, resident of Gopal Nagar, Ajnala

2.Gurbhej Singh, son of Hardev Singh, resident of Haruwal, Dera Baba Nanak

Interrogation ongoing

SP (D) Chaudhary said that interrogation of both the accused is ongoing to gather more information about the supply network and the smuggling gang linked to Pakistan.

Police say that the joint operation against drug smuggling will continue.
