Record Rainfall in Punjab: Monsoon to Withdraw in a Week

Chandigarh: This year’s monsoon season in Punjab is ending with record rainfall. The monsoon is now on its way out and will completely withdraw from the state within the next week. According to Meteorological Department data, between June 1 and September 20 this year, the state received 621.4 mm of rainfall, which is 49% more than the normal average of 418.1 mm. This rainfall is the seventh heaviest recorded in the last 125 years.

According to data from the Meteorological Department, the monsoon remained active for approximately 40 to 45 days, with several spells of continuous rainfall. Of these, approximately 15 to 20 days saw significantly more rainfall than normal, with the rains particularly heavy in July and August.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of rain in the state for the next week. The weather will remain normal and the atmosphere will remain dry. A slight increase in temperature is also possible during this time.
